This Saturday on October 30th, Doug Nelson of RetouchPRO is hosting me in another live Photoshop web presentation. This time, I’ll make a beautiful woman morbid and creepifying (maybe even corpsified!) using some new and classic tools in Photoshop CS5 Extended. Much of the effect can be done in earlier versions, but the new tools will make some of the tasks quite a bit easier.

As for my show on Saturday, I’ll use Daz|Studio to pose and light a 3D skeleton and bring the results into Photoshop as a flat render (due to performance issues with the webcast software, I can’t bring the OBJ file into PS). Once there, you can see me take a couple of different approaches to compositing the render and the original photo, as well as how I create the skin textures and lighting effects.
This live demo will use tools that are new to Photoshop CS5, and take advantage of some features in the Extended version. However, I will cover alternate methods so folks with earlier or standard versions can still accomplish the look. I’ll use Smart Objects, 3D, Puppet Warp, Content-Aware Fill, Channel Operations (ChOps), and standard layer effects. Along the way I’ll point out some work flow options that should help in your every day tasks, and talk about how I make choices at what point of the project that help influence the final product.
At the end, I hope to leave enough time for questions and answers. You’ll have to tune in for the discounts, which I’ll provide during the show
